Ormao Dance Company is one of 49 local non-profits worthy of your support! Ormao Dance Company is a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts organization that has been providing educational and artistic experiences throughout the Pikes Peak region for the past 21 years. With your support through the Give! campaign, we hope to do the same for the next 21 years!
We also have received a matching grant from the Pikes Peak Community Foundation that DOUBLES your donation! Our goal for funds raised during this campaign is to double our impact on Title One Schools with our school outreach program, Mathtastic: Dancing with Mathematics, an exciting participatory in-school event that investigates math concepts using music, movement and a curious collection of everyday objects.
Attention Ormao supporters ages 20-39! Ormao can win bonus money if we have the most “unique young donors” aged 20-39 who give $10 or more by December 31, 2011. This donation will also be doubled by the matching grant mentioned above!

A NOTE ABOUT ORMAO’S VISION
Welcome to the evolving world of Ormao! Ormao has grown up to become a premiere modern dance company serving the Pikes Peak region. Ormao serves the community as:

•A center for professional dance offering opportunities for professional dancers to flourish, emerging choreographers to create new work, and for collaborations to grow.

•A dance school with a program of classes that embraces all ages and abilities, with an emphasis on safe body mechanics, independent creative thinking, and problem solving.

•A resource for arts-in-education, with a team of dance educators bringing a program that bridges dance and mathematics to area public schools.
As Ormao celebrates its 21st anniversary, there is much to be proud of. Ormao has officially transformed into a non-profit organization, and has been awarded its first grant from the Bee Vradenburg Foundation. With grants and community support, Ormao is positioned to journey along a path of increased community focus, to be a downtown arts organization beyond the language of dance.
In 2011, Ormao moved to a new facility where we can expand our presence as a downtown community partner in the arts, a place where we can expand our collaborative, inter-disciplinary arts approach to modern dance. The fabulous new Ormao studio offers:

•A space that can also serve as a gallery space for local visual artists to show their work and sponsor art gallery openings.

•Two multi-use studios that is suitable for dance classes as well as studio performances of dance, performance art, theater, and music for Ormao as well as other small performing arts organizations. In our first five months, we have already hosted dance, music, theater and art!
